How to Order A Chose Cover

FireplaceStoves.com.

Hello, I’m Michael McDowell, from Xpress

This is how you order a chase cover from Xpress Fireplace. The first thing you have to do, as you’ll see in picture 1, is measure the length and width of your chase. What you want to do, side one, is measure outside to outside. And then on side 2 you are going to measure from outside to outside. Typically side three will be the same as side one. and side four will be the same as side two, but if those measurements are different we will also need those measurements as well. You’re going to want to add an eighth of an inch to a quarter of an inch to your measurement to make sure that the chase cover fits overtop of the chase. You don’t want to be short on this. These are non-returnable custom chase covers. And you can be up to one-quarter of an inch larger than the chase and it will be fine. I recommend the drip edge. The standard height for the skirt is 3” and the standard collar height is 2”.

If your chimney is coming straight up through the center of your chase you won’t need to do the following measurements. To figure out how big the hole is for the chimney, you're going to be 1-2” bigger than the outside diameter of the chimney coming through that chase cover. If you are a little off center we have multiple flues. We are going to need, as you can see in the second picture, we need the 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 measurements. If you have multiple flues, we are going to need those measurements, the 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00, for all the flues that are coming through.

And that’s how you order it and if you’d like to see one installed, that’s going to be the next video. Thank you.
